Two blogs? In the space of a week? Stop whinging!
Anyway, short and sweet. As you know, Vimeo is our friend. Treat that friend with a nice night in and spend sometime checking out my student flicks from back in the day. RANDOM and CLARITY.
Both shot in my student years back in 2005 when no one knew what the fuck an IPhone even was. Clarity is the short and sweet number. It was shortlisted back in 2008 for a Horror festival judged by James Mullighan, Creative Director of Shooting People, makers of cult film The Zombie Diaries, Kevin Gates and Michael Bartlett and Ken Marshall, producer of the award winning LONDON TO BRIGHTON.
Random is the epic beast of a final year short I ended up shuffling around a few festivals such as the Leith Short Film Festival (now theEdinburgh Short Film Festival). Its 20 odd minutes long, so if you have some spare time check it out.
Anyway, dont be scared of leaving comments and reviews on the site, the blog etc as well as on RANDOM'S IMDB PAGE.
Chuckle, rinse, recollect the fun times or just lampoon this piss out of em. Feel free...bigger things await.

Video killed the radio star....

Anyway, nothing much to report. But I do have my head down and I feel jazzy-jeff that I'm pushing some creativity out of my system. Will blog about that nearer the future.
In the meantime, as YouTube isnt the only place to find talking dogs and crazy ladies that sing about their genitals, I have created a VIMEO page full of delights.

Oh wow...MySpace.

UPDATES 2.0
Phew...time-consuming all this blog-page lark but I do have updates to whisper into ones ear.
Remember the Clarity short film that I mentioned before? Well, that's been updated and viewable HERE. Please leave comments and feedback...I dont mind, really. Really...
Anyway...I have also updated the FILMS section to incorporate links to the films via trailers and IMDB pages. This then leads me into...the GUIDE section.
To the right there's a STICKIES section which will give you a brief instruction on how to navigate the blog - bottom line is...everything is click-able.
ADDITIONALLY - There's also a contact page trying to promote any Music Video's you young Eddy Vedder's would like us to make.
Information overload I know...but its best to contain it in one place.

Sent a screener of Clarity, my 1st student short edited by Chris Earl with sound design by Dawn Feather (of Yorkshire Edit) to the Showroom Shorts ran by Rob Speranza.

Introductions
Welcome to Derek's Don't Run!
From here you will be able to follow the meandering thoughts of filmmaker Danny Naylor as he develops his next film and/or music video projects and see what goes into the process of creating and procrastinating on low-budget short films.
Why am I posting on Danny's site? The simple reason is that I have been a foil for Danny's ideas for many years now and that will continue for the foreseeable future.
We studied Film and Media Production together at university and have worked on a number of projects together, most recently the music video for Danto Aiyya's Imidiwen.
I also write for Starburst Magazine and maintain my own blog, Normal Nerds.
What's to come for Derek's Don't Run? I can promise that you'll find out soon, as Danny and I have a meeting scheduled next week to discuss just that.
